1. Bernd Marin confirmed as keynote speaker at the AAL Forum 09
This autumn the AAL FORUM 09 (29 September – 1 October 2009) in Vienna will be the major meeting place in Europe for academic experts, industry stakeholders and policy makers in the field of innovative ICT solutions for older persons. Renownded speakers and organisations have confirmed their participation and the programme plus the accompayning exhibition will present the state-of-the-art in Ambient Assisted Living research and Active Ageing technology.
One of the major opening keynote speeches will be
given by Bernd Marin (see picture), Executive Director of the Eu
ropean Centre for Social
Welfare Policy and Research: “Easy
Ageing: Who Needs and Who Wants What Assistance for Well-Being? Demographic,
Economic and Social Aspects of Greying Europe”.
Holly Jimison, Associate Prof. Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology at the Oregon Health & Science University will speak about a US Perspective on Research Trends in Technologies for Ambient Assisted Living.
In 3 parallel tracks, more than 18 sessions and additional workshops on serious gaming for active ageing and business models the current statuts of AAL research and innovation in Europe, new cutting-edge developments & projects and business perspectives in the Ageing Society will be presented and discussed.
The annual AAL FORUM is accompanied by an exhibition, in which companies and institutions will present their showcases, products and services to the audience. Active Ageing including games, learning and social interaction is the focus in this year’s exhibition.
Young scientists from various disciplines (geriatrics,
engineering, architecture, informatics, psychology, sociology, nursing sciences,
economics, etc.) investigating technical solutions for older adults are invited
to submit an abstract for the “Young
researchers and PhD workshop” which will be part of the AAL Forum.
A Poster
Session offers the possibility for all research, development and innovation
(R&D&I) projects funded by the AAL Programme, the European Framework
Programme or national programmes to present themselves to the European AAL community
in the exhibition area of the Hofburg.
