Newsletter: The AAL JP brochure and project village

14-07-2010

THE AAL JP WANTS TO FURTHER ENHANCE THE VISIBILITY OF AAL JP PROJECTS AND CROSS-PROJECT KNOWLEDGE SHARING AND DISCUSSIONS.

AAL BROCHURE REGARDING PROGRESS AND SUCCESS IN AAL JP PROJECTS

An invitation to all coordinators of projects of AAL projects funded by the Ambient Assisted Joint Programme was mailed earlier this week. This is about to show progress and success in AAL JP projects. It is the first brochure of its kind (in the AAL Joint Programme) and this product will be very important to contribute to a higher visibility of projects and the programme, and to show “progress and success” for funding agencies, governments, stakeholders, and investors. We will distribute this new brochure at the AAL JP Forum 2010 and AAL JP Investment Forum 2010 in Odense, Denmark, and beyond. The coordinator has obtained information about the procedure for submitting the material for the brochure. If relevant please contribute via your coordinator.

Participation in the brochure is not dependent of participation in the AAL JP Forum 2010 and AAL JP Investment Forum in Odense or in the AAL Project Village. Nevertheless, the AAL Forum is an event, where we make it possible (and expect) our co-financed projects to be present, in order to promote and disseminate results.

We would like to receive material for the brochure not later than 6th of August 2010.

AAL PROJECT VILLAGE

An invitation to the coordinators of AAL JP call 1 and call 2 has been send for participation in the AAL PROJECT VILLAGE at the AAL JP FORUM in Odense 14th-17th of September in Odense, Denmark

In Odense a dedicated AAL Project Village will be build in conjunction with the public “Innovation World” in the big arena, and next to commercial Exhibition.

Our vision for the AAL Project Village is not to make a traditional poster exhibition, or like the settings of the commercial exhibition.

It will be a “light” and open setting - with a café like environment

and maybe speaker’s corner. There will be no booths, and no place to hang posters. Please design a roll up instead explaining your project concept as simple as possible, what your AAL project is about, or a leaflet, a laptop. We will also encourage you - if possible - to bring e.g. prototypes, products, and devices - but it is of course not a requirement.

Deadline to get your free space in the AAL Project Village is: August 6, 2010.

 Neelie Kroes

Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for the European Digital Agenda, has confirmed her presence at the Ambient Assisted Living Forum from 15 - 17 September in Odense, Denmark.

Her participation confirms the European Commission’s firm commitment to supporting the development and uptake of Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) solutions across Europe, as a key element of the recently launched European Digital Agenda.

Commissioner Kroes, previously a minister of the Dutch government, and Commissioner for Competition from 2004 to 2010, will be joined by Danish Finance Minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen, Danish MEP and former television personality Morten Løkkegaard, Microsoft Europe CEO Jan Mühlfeit, and Director of the Department of Ageing and Life Course at the World Health Organisation John Beard.

PITCH YOUR IDEA AT AAL FORUM?

Do you or your project partners have a promising business idea that you want to bring to market? Do you want to discover opportunities to access funding? Do you want to learn more about the opportunities, obstacles and trends in the AAL marketplace?

Then the AAL JP Investment Forum is the place to be. Why?

  • You are in a roomful of investors: Hone your elevator pitch and make the most of this opportunity. Bounce ideas off of them. Why not ‘reality check’ your business case? Investors know what works and what doesn’t.

  • Funding is available: A large number of potential public and private investors who are ready to support commercial ventures will be present. And the European Commission has made significant sums available for larger-scale projects.

  • It’s a unique learning opportunity: Aside from funding possibilities, the Investment Forum offers a treasure trove of proven business strategies. Identify trends and risks in the AAL market and learn how to achieve your project objectives. Get an insider’s view on the industry, and share ideas and information.

And finally, understand how leaders in the field have succeeded and take advantage of the lessons learned. Go to this link if you want to try it out:
