Droidcon Hackathon on ageing well
The AAL Programme sponsors innovations for ageing well. It does so through the publishing of its regular annual public calls, but also through other modern means such as Hackathons.
Along these lines, the Droidcon Italy 2017 is one of the hot spots in Europe where innovation in coding takes place. That is why we support this event and we call the community of Android coders in Europe to help solve this year’s challenge: “Older adults’ occupation after retirement – build a solution to keep the elderlies active and productive through learning, training and knowledge transfer to younger generations.”

Droidcon is a global developer conference series and a network focusing on the best of Android. The idea behind droidcon is to support the Android platform and create a global network for developers and companies. The first two droidcon conferences were organised by an international team of Android enthusiasts in Berlin and London in 2009. Since then this community driven conference format has spread around the globe rapidly. The conferences offer high class talks from different parts of the Android ecosystem, including core development, embedded solutions, augmented reality, business solutions and games.
MISSION
The main idea behind all droidcon events is to support the Android platform and build up a networking event for developers and companies. We offer high-class talks covering different asp ects of the ecosystem, including core development, embedded solutions, augmented reality, business solutions and games. In the exhibition area our sponsors show their latest hard and software solutions, including phones, tablets, consoles, gadgets and – of course – SDKs, APIs, apps and widgets for business and consumer purposes.
THE GLOBAL DROIDCON NETWORK
The global droidcon network is still growing. In the long term, droidcon as a community and event series will spread further around the globe, especially in South America, Asia and Africa. In 2016 twenty-seven editions of Droidcon are organized allover the world.
ABOUT DROIDCON ITALY
The whole event is divided into a Conference, Barcamps, and ad Hackathon. Other satellite events will be expected (workshops, b2b matching, networking events, etc). Droidcon Italy 2017 is the fourth edition of Italian Droidcon. A Call for Papers is open for speakers to submit their proposal. All attendees will have chance to follow talks, events, workshops and keynotes and meet developers from all over the world.
