Hackathon: Hack 4 Ageing Well

For 24 hours from the 30 September to the 1 October 2017, a hackathon will be taking place in the run up to the AAL Forum 2017 in Coimbra, Portugal.

Hack 4 Ageing Well is one of the thrilling side events to be taking place alongside the main activities at this year’s forum. The AAL hackathon invites you and your team to step up to the challenge and come together to work late into the night, designing and innovating tech solutions that aim to meet the challenges and improve the quality of life of today’s ageing society.

This is an unmissable opportunity to immerse yourself in the AAL community and have first-hand involvement with creating, designing, and sharing your solutions in a quick-fire environment. The day will begin with a group presentation on the challenges of the next 24 hours, before you are let loose to start work on your prototypes. There will be coaching opportunities for you and your team along the way, with workshops and mentorship sessions to offer support and inspiration.

After a late night, and an early start on the Sunday, all hackers will be sent back to work, hopefully eager to get your robust creations to the finish line – the ‘final pitch’ – and hear what the panel of international experts and potential users of your product have to say.

From start to finish, the hackathon is a great place to learn new skills, network, and bring forward fresh ideas for improving the independence and social life of older people. Attendance is free, so register now to be a part of this vibrant event and make a difference.

Why not accept the invitation on the dedicated Facebook event page and spread the word by sharing the event.

Registration closes on 15 September 2017.
