The THCS Annual Conference in Helsinki. Shaping the future of health and active ageing
The Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) Partnership will hold its 3rd Annual Conference on 11th November 2025 in Helsinki, as part of the European Public Health Conference (EPHC) pre-conference programme.
Under the theme Transforming Health and Care Systems Together – Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, the event will bring together policymakers, researchers, practitioners and patient representatives to explore how Europe can build resilient, sustainable and people-centred health systems.
The conference will mark an important milestone for the AAL community. With THCS now incorporating active and healthy ageing within its remit, the agenda reflects many of the priorities long championed by AAL – from supporting independent living and caregiver resilience to embedding digital innovation into health and care systems and practices. In this way, THCS builds directly on the AAL legacy, ensuring that ageing well remains a central part of Europe’s health transformation.
Highlights of the programme include:
- Evaluation and impact assessment, with a keynote from the European Commission and contributions from OECD and the AAL Legacy Study.
- Strengthening primary care, featuring THCS project spotlights and a panel on integrated care models.
- Mental health in community care, addressing prevention, caregiver support, and innovative approaches.
- Capacity building, with sessions on workforce resilience, digital readiness and leadership for system transformation.
The conference will be a platform for leading voices in European health innovation to advance the shared agenda of innovation, inclusion and active ageing.
