RESEARCH

STIMULATING… RESULT ORIENTED RESEARCH

The AAL Programme aims to join national research activities to build projects with results that are able to reach the market in 2-3 years. The added value of such initiatives resides in its double funding-based system (research is funded jointly by your National Funding Agency and complemented by the European Commission) with only one interlocutor: your National Contact Person. Within an AAL  project,  your research activity will be brought closer to market and to the users (and consumers) of the project solutions.

Specific aims of the programme are:

  • Fostering the emergence of innovative ICT-based products, services and systems for ageing well at home, in the community, and at work, thus increasing the quality of life, autonomy, participation in social life, skills and employability of older adults, and reducing the costs of health and social care;
  • Creating a critical mass of research, development and innovation at EU level in technologies and services for ageing well in the information society, including the establishment of a favourable environment for participation by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

If you feel you can make the difference and that you have a good and mature research background to propose, check your National Contact Person on how further contacts can be established and how to apply for funding.
